I was confused because I had all of the expansion packs and stuff packs, but after all this time, something must've deleted the base game file during one of my computer updates or cleanings of my PC.
THE SIMS 2 SUPER COLLECTION REDDIT INSTALL
I was told to install the base game before running the shortcut again. Fast forward to March of 2020 (the last couple days), and after trying to run the game after a few months of not playing it, I am given the pop-up that my game is missing the base game, The Sims 2. I was also given a few in-game bonuses for buying from that specific seller. Installation went just fine and I was able to start playing this game to my heart's content without any visual or hardware problems. The seller sent me a link to the OneDrive file for the game in its entirety. I purchased The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection as a digital copy from a 3rd party retailer for about $30 back in June of 2019, and the process of receiving the game digitally was quick and had no problems whatsoever.
